VACANCIES

Appointment of Economist at the ANRPC Secretariat

(Notification No. B/2/2/1-3, dated 10 November 2009)

The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) invites applications from suitable candidates for filling up a vacant post of Economist at its Secretariat in Kuala Lumpur. The appointment will be for a period of five years, including probation for one year.

Qualifications and Requirements to the Post

1. A bachelor’s degree with honours in Economics or an equivalent qualification.

2. A minimum of two years’ working experience in an agricultural commodity, preferably natural rubber.

3. Preference will be given to candidates having advanced degree in Economics and better working experience. Statistics as one of the subjects will be considered as an advantage.

4. Candidate should be proficient in analytical skills and in English language.

5. Candidates should not be over 40 years of age.


Job Description Under the supervision of the Senior Economist, the Economist will:

1. Be responsible for updating the Association’s database by constantly interacting with all Member Governments and other relevant sources;

2. Be responsible for duly publishing Natural Rubber Trends and Statistics (Monthly) and Annual Bulletin of Natural Rubber Statistics;

3. Suggest measures for improving coverage and quality of data published by the Association.
4. Prepare analytical reports on natural rubber markets on a monthly basis;

5. Report developments in global economy, automobile industry, general rubber goods industry, crude petroleum and synthetic rubber prices;
